Welcome to our May Newsletter 🍂
I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful Autumn weather and had time with family and friends over the long weekends in April.
Happy Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is on Sunday May 10, and we celebrate all mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and all women—including mentors, sisters, and caregivers—and express our gratitude for your role in nurturing, guiding, and strengthening our community.
Flu Season is Coming — Stay Protected
The weather is getting cooler and flu season is here. It is important to stay protected because the risk of serious illness increases as we age. Having an annual Flu shot can increase your immunity, have a talk to your doctor about your options.
Flu vaccinations are free for everyone aged 65 and over. You can book to get a flu shot at your local GP, pharmacies, or any community health centre. If you need transport to your appointment, please call us on 8241 8000. Find Flu Vaccine by location click.
Winter Outings Calendar Coming Soon ❄️
Our Winter Outings Calendar will arrive by email and post in the coming weeks—keep an eye out! It features exciting new outing locations, perfect for meeting new people, exploring different locations, and spending time with friends.
There is still time to join us in May! Our Autumn Calendar is still open for bookings, so don’t miss out. Download the Autumn Calendar here.
Due to the current fuel crisis and the increased fuel costs, many of our current outings are targeted to our local areas to conserve fuel. We have so much to enjoy locally in our city and its surrounds that we often take it for granted. I hope you enjoy the outings on offer.

Personal care to be fully funded under Support at Home from October
The Australian Government has announced that personal care will soon be fully funded for eligible Support at Home participants. From 1 October 2026, personal care will move into the ‘clinical supports’ category. This means there will no longer be out-of-pocket costs for essential care, including showering, dressing and non-clinical continence management.
By removing these costs, this reform helps people stay independent and healthy at home without extra financial pressure. Learn more Click.
Cyber Security
The Cyber Security: Act Now, Stay Secure project is supported by the Australian Government and helps us provide better cybersecurity education for our clients and community. We really want your feedback on the impact this initiative has had for you and would ask that you complete the Cyber Security: Act Now, Stay Secure survey. Thank you to everyone who has already shared their feedback.
