Access Sydney Community Transport (ASCT) is proud to announce a food delivery partnership with Burwood Council to support their new Food Donations Drive which will operate over the next month.
Access Sydney will safely collect and transport donated food items from participating supermarkets to four (4) local charities on a weekly basis. The ongoing lockdown has led to increased food insecurity where residents of Burwood have faced tough restrictions with limited movement.
The partnership aims to provide transport relief to charities that enable volunteers to sort, prepare, cook and distribute meals to vulnerable community members who are struggling during the ongoing lockdown.
Access Sydney will provide COVIDSafe deliveries to the following charities:
- Burwood Community Welfare Services – 9744 1866
- St Merkorious Charity – 9799 9954
- St Pauls Anglican Church Burwood – 9747 4327
- Saint Nectarios Burwood – 9747 6522
Members of the public are encouraged to donate food and household items which will help charities in the Burwood Local Government Area. A list of items to donate can be found on the Burwood Council website here.
