The Federal Budget – new initiatives from 1 July

The Federal Government has announced a range of new initiatives that commenced in July to provide support for communities across Australia, including energy bill relief. You can check these here.

In addition, the Government has increased the Age Pension asset limits which will increase the number of older people who are eligible for a full or part pension. You can check the new limits here: Assets test for Age Pension – Age Pension – Services Australia.

Use the Internet Securely: Don’t Forget to Update Your Device.

It’s crucial to regularly update the software on your phone, tablet, or computer. This ensures your devices and software always have the latest security protections. Find additional tips to keep you secure online from “Act Now. Stay Secure.” below.

Consolidating our Client Records

As a result of changing contractual arrangements for the delivery of our transport services, we are required to consolidate the My Aged Care records of our clients. Up until July 2025, we maintained client records in two my Aged Care digital data portals – one to hold information for clients referred through our sub-contract from Transport for NSW, and the other for clients referred directly for our services. As we are now contracted directly by the Australian Government for our community transport services, over the next month or so, we will be consolidating all client records to one site. This will ensure that all clients will continue to receive our services without interruption.

We are consolidating our client files at the request of the government and in partnership with the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and we will play close attention to keeping client records secure and confidential.

Village-to-Village Shuttle– a City success

Our Village-to-Village Shuttle service has just successfully completed its eighteenth year of service, assisting nearly 16,000 passengers. The service links residents of the City of Sydney with important community, health, shopping, and other facilities through three bus routes.
The free ‘hop-on, hop-off’ bus service, which runs on Thursdays and Fridays, is operated by Access Sydney with funding support from the City of Sydney and is open to the public and carries passengers of any age.
You can find more information about the service and timetables on the V2V website here.

Did you know?

A recent survey has revealed that our clients speak an incredible 58 languages! While the majority speak English, the other languages mostly spoken were Chinese languages, Italian, Greek, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean – that’s quite a United Nations!
