Implementation of Aged Care reforms delayed The Government has announced that the implementation of the Aged Care reforms intended to focus on stronger participant rights, better services and improved regulation of providers has been postponed from 1 July to 1 November. The Minister for Aged Care and Seniors, Sam Rae said, in an open letter to Aged Care participants that ‘this extra time will allow participants to better understand the changes, so you can prepare and make informed decisions. Importantly, you will continue to receive the safe, quality care you deserve.’ You can read the Minister’s letter below. Successful client forums Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual client forums. Over the past month we have conducted 6 morning tea forums to provide an update on Access Sydney and to listen to feedback about our services. The feedback, together with the responses to our annual survey will contribute to the development of our services over the next year – we will provide details of the outcomes shortly.

Last chance to complete our client survey You can give us feedback about our services by completing our 2025 Annual Client Survey. It takes a just a few minutes to complete but will contribute to better services for years to come.

Beware! – Centrelink scams We should all be careful to avoid online scams. Recently, Centrelink exposed scammers who are issuing emails claiming to be from Centrelink asking you to urgently update your personal details. The email says your pension, benefit or payment will be suspended, disrupted or changed if you don’t make an update – but it is fake. It tells you to click on a link that will take you to a fake myGov website. You should never click on a link in an email or text message to sign in to myGov or your Centrelink online account. The only official Services Australia and myGov websites are my.gov.au and servicesaustralia.gov.au. Keep reading to find more about these scams below.
